Restaurants in & Around Rancho Palos Verdes That Are Open for Dining

One of the things that people have sorely missed since the pandemic started is dining. Fortunately, restrictions are easing. More and more restaurants in and around Rancho Palos Verdes are now accommodating a limited number of diners. These establishments include the following top restaurants in the area:

  1. Bashi
Terranea Resort, 100 Terranea Way, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA

Missed eating Asian food while admiring the coastal views? You’re in luck. Terranea Resort’s Bashi is now open for dining in. They’ve recently opened their outdoor seating area so you can enjoy Bashi’s selection of fine Asian cuisine and Asian beers out in the open.

Only household units of not exceeding six can eat at a single table. All members should also be present and seated at the same time. To guarantee a table, reservations are highly recommended. Call 310.265.2861 to make the necessary arrangements.

  2. Swan Thai RPV
31206 Palos Verdes Drive W, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA

Another purveyor of Asian cuisine in the community is open for limited outdoor dining: Swan Thai RPV. As with local regulations, social distancing is enforced and diners are required to wear masks. To further mitigate the possible spread of the coronavirus, the staff of Swan Thai RPV also has hand sanitizers available. Temperature checks are conducted upon entry. The staff are also adequately protected—they’ll be wearing masks and gloves during the entire service.

One more adjustment Swan Thai RPV has made is the addition of a digital menu. All you need to do is scan the QR code which is readily available in each table and you’ll be able to load the digital menu on your smartphone.

  3. Asaka
Golden Cove Center, 31208 Palos Verdes Drive W, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA

Asaka is one of the best, if not the go-to, Japanese restaurants in Rancho Palos Verdes. The place is especially famous for their sushi. And now, you don’t have to eat your takeout sushi while sitting on your couch. Instead, you can pick a table of your choice at Asaka’s outdoor seating area and feast on your favorite sushi as you stare at views of the seemingly endless Pacific Ocean.

Like any other responsible establishment, Asaka has also taken it upon themselves to add safety measures. The staff is masked and gloved at all times. Diners are also required to wear masks for their protection. Social distancing is strictly observed, and regular disinfecting is easy as the tables all come equipped with hand sanitizers. Instead of reusing their standard plates and cutlery, Asaka is, for the meantime, also using disposable plates and cups.

  4. Think Prime Steakhouse
29601 S Western Ave, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA

Think Prime is ready to accept diners into the restaurant. They’ve made several changes to the establishment, such as adding a new outdoor patio where you can enjoy your prime steak and glass of wine while admiring the views. If you’re worried about the noise, this patio is relatively isolated from the noise pollution thanks to the plexiglass that surrounds the area.

Even with all the COVID-19 restrictions and “new normal” rules, Think Prime’s service and food remains topnotch. Dining here is a testament to the fact that abiding rules and regulations won’t affect quality of service that’s always been superior. Making a reservation is highly recommended as Think Prime has its fair share of patrons dropping by.

  5. Big Island Eats and Shave Ice
Promenade on the Peninsula, 550 Deep Valley Drive #147, Rolling Hills Estates, CA

Big Island Eats and Shave Ice is a favorite in Rolling Hills Estates for their sweet and cooling shave ice treats, but their selection of salads and baked goods are also worth the trip. The restaurant’s reopening was highly anticipated, and everybody rejoiced when Big Island Eats announced they are ready to take orders.

Like the restaurants we previously mentioned, Big Island Eats has also taken extra steps to ensure everyone’s safety. There is plenty of outdoor seating if you prefer sit-down dining. All the staff are well-equipped with masks and gloves, and there are hand sanitizers available. Social distancing is enforced and you can arrange for contactless payment.

The following restaurants nearby Rolling Hills Estates are also open for dining: Mama Terano, The Original Red Onion, Stufft Pizza, Good Stuff, and El Pollo Inka.

In time, we’ll be able to dine in all of the best restaurants in Rancho Palos Verdes. For now, let’s observe physical distancing, practice good hygiene, and wear a mask whenever we enjoy fun things to do in Palos Verdes.
